I have over 30 years in the transportation industry. I was the site manager at Dotson Trucking Company many years ago and our company moved the Federal Government into the Richard B Russell Building in Atlanta, Georgia. We also moved PBT engineers in/out of the city for Marta.
In addition to moves we also had intrastate authority, and our customers were The Clorox Company, 3M Company and Ford Motor. We received interstate authority after deregulation. In the 80’s my father was small businessman of the year for the state of Georgia and we were the largest minority trucking company in the southeast. What I learned from him is that we sell service.
I have worked at J B Hunt as a driver manager, M S Carriers as a driver manager and planner for dedicated accounts. Under my supervision our Target account had 98.5% and 98.3% on time delivery. I worked with Swift Transportation as dedicated driver manager and under my supervisor we had 100% on time service. I was also the South Georgia and Alabama load planner.
I also worked as Receiving Coordinator, Receiving Manager and Inventory Control Manager at the Atlanta Kroger Distribution Center for their 3PL’s (Americold and Witron Logistics). The Atlanta Kroger Distribution Center is like the Atlanta Airport, everything comes through Atlanta.
